After completing this program, the student is expected to have comprehensive training in the theory and diagnosis of TCM and acupuncture treatment.
Following graduation the student is expected to be able to practice acupuncture and related modalities such as tuina massage and Taiji qigong for the treatment of common diseases as an independent practitioner or in conjunction with other treatment modalities.
Graduates of this program are eligible to write NCCAOM licensing exams for acupuncture certification in the U.S. and CTCMA licensing exams for acupuncture certification in British Columbia.
This program requires a minimum of 2260 hours (including 680 clinical hours), and takes three academic years full time, two years intensive, or three to six years part-time to complete.

This course is designed to achieve two objectives: first, to understand the basic terms in surface anatomy; second, to learn the locations of acupuncture points with reference to surface anatomy.
