The LEED Green Building Strategies and Green Associate Exam Preparation workshop will provide participants with 36 hours of core concepts and strategies to reduce the environmental impact of the built environment in Canada. The course highlights how these core concepts and strategies can be used in various LEED rating systems. The workshop will deliver a comprehensive overview of techniques, approaches, materials and technologies used in creating greener buildings and communities. It will provide an introductory level of familiarity with the rating systems and will assist in preparing students to take their LEED Green Associate exam.

This workshop will be of interest to architectural students, home inspectors, building contractors, real estate agents/brokers, and building energy management staff.

Building Energy Modeling and Simulation for LEED Canada Projects (1.2 CEUs)

Course Format: Public Course / Instructor-Led / Open Enrollment  V

Objective
The objective of the course is to introduce you to the development of the energy model for LEED projects and being able to create a full model for LEED submission and being able to fill in the LEED EA credit templates.

Also, being able to assist HVAC and architectural design teams to optimize their design for the best energy and cost options. The modeling software used for this course will be EE4.

Learning Objectives

Understand details of Energy Modeling for LEED projects
Overview of different LEED standards, like MNECB 1997, ASHRAE 90.1-2007 and ASHRAE 62.1-2007
